Topaz + Albite - Khoroshiv Raion (Volodarsk-Volynskii), Zhytomyr Raion, Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine
The pegmatite belt of Khoroshiv Raion is roughly 22Km long, and up to 1500 meters wide. The district was renamed from Volodarsk-Volynskii in 2016 to Khoroshiv, due to laws prohibiting names of communist origin. The pegmatites have historically produced excellent specimens of beryl and topaz, to include the bicolor topazes famous to Ukraine.
This specimen features three crystals of topaz intergrown on a bed of albite. Gentle bicolor blue and champagne are displayed in the most prominent crystal.
