The Alto de Cruces Mine in Colombia is a well known producer of fine quality clear quartz crystals. The pegmatite itself is host to some uranium minerals such as meta-autinite, and parauranophane. It is also one of the locales of the area that produces many of the varietal trade name quartz such as "blue mist" and 'Lemurian".
This specimen features an aesthetic self-displaying cluster of radiating clear quartz crystals with minor hematite association.
