The Nikolaevskiy Mine was opened in 1982 and very quickly became known as one of the world's premier localities for sulfide minerals. Hosted in limestone, the cavities contain superb specimens of sphalerite, galena, calcite, fluorite, pyrrhotite, and ilvaite.

This specimen features large cuboctohedral fluorite crystals overgrowing modified cubic fluorites, which were coated by quartz druze between generations. The matrix is rich in pyrrhotite, small quartz points, and some dissouluted small galena as well. The specimen naturally displays quite well and aesthetically.
