This is an exceptionally clean quality amethyst crystal from the Little Gem Mine. Stationary gas inclusion are visible with a loupe at 10x. the clarity of the crystal washes out some of the saturation, but good color is still very much present. At least 15 generations of growth are visible when counted.
The Little Gem Mine is an amethyst bearing pegmatite in Jefferson County, Montana, USA. The mine is privately owned, and artisanal mined for crystalline mineral specimens. First discovered in 1886, the mine has a rich history and is measure of why Montana is called ‘The Treasure State’.
